“Hyde taught me the importance of being assertive and having the courage to speak up in class. Hyde also made me believe that I have the potential to do great things. Hyde’s Five Words (Leadership, Integrity, Courage, Curiosity, Concern), and Five Principles (Humility, Conscience, Truth, Brother’s Keeper, Destiny) made an enormous difference in my transition. I also knew that I could contact my former Hyde teachers at virtually any time, which was incredible. When I needed help in my English classes, Mr. Fusco was there for me; when I needed help in my History classes, I could speak with Mr. Rowe. It made my transition so much easier. I’ve carried the Hyde Word, ‘Leadership,’ for years now. I am a Business/Marketing major at college, and I have found myself taking on leadership roles all throughout college, especially during group business projects…”
