We are one community that is made up of three schools: Elementary, Middle and High School. Hyde-Bronx School's purpose is to teach students that each one of them is gifted with a unique potential that defines their DESTINY.

 | | The Hyde Leadership Charter School academic program is designed to challenge, engage, develop and support lifelong learning. At every classroom level, students are challenged by teachers and peers to go after their best. The teachers facilitate students through a curriculum that is geared to helping them become more curious about their academics, and to ultimately prepare them for the rigors of higher education. Our goal is to offer high quality instruction in a supportive learning community, using a variety of instructional approaches, strategies and programs to meet the diverse needs of our student community. |

| Our Faculty: Hyde-Bronx is committed to providing students with highly qualified teachers, administrators and support staff. Hyde continually sets high standards and expectations for its teachers. Only faculty and staff who share our philosophy -- that all children can achieve excellence and are destined for greatness -- are chosen to teach within the Hyde Leadership Charter School. We all share a dedication to the education and character development of our community members. Faculty and staff are genuinely interested in contributing to the creation of a positive and safe school culture that supports and promotes Hyde’s Five Words and Five Principles. This is done in an effort to bring about change within the urban school community.

| Student Expectations: Every student at Hyde Leadership Charter School is expected to take an active part in his/her learning process. Abiding by one of Hyde's Five Words -- CURIOSITY (I am responsible for my own learning) -- students take responsibility for what they need to learn and are expected to put forth their maximum effort. They are asked to consider who they are as learners, what are their strengths and weaknesses, what attitudes get in the way of their success and how they will address both their skills and attitude issues. As much as they are learning academic content, they are learning about themselves. They are learning to be persistent, independent and resourceful problem-solvers.
College Prep: Hyde-Bronx is a college-preparatory school. Therefore, all students are required to participate in core academic classes, in addition to the elements of the Character Curriculum and Co-Curricular activities. The school’s curriculum reflects the rigorous development of all aspects of a student’s life. In keeping with Hyde-Bronx’s mission of character education, students are evaluated based on effort, as well as achievement. In Middle School and High School, Effort grades are assessed each quarter and are typically within ten points of achievement grades. At the end of the academic year, effort and achievement grades are averaged for a single final grade. |
